Sage

We used Kay Sage’s powerful 1955 painting “A Bird in the Room” as the subject of our shortest song ever, a stand alone piece to be included in an upcoming compilation to be announced.

These beams of wood frame a tattered cage. A cold wind bellows; a million ears to hear, yet none eyes to see. A ceramic beak brimming with mint and dried leaves; portent plumage. I tried so hard but couldn’t keep death away this time.
